Useful Information

Applying Professional Scrum

Course Overview

The Applying Professional Scrum (APS) course is a fantastic introduction to Scrum, an can even be used as a way to kickstart a new Scrum Team. It is designed with the aspiring professional in mind, and is suitable for beginners but even experts tend to find value in attending.

If you are new to Agile and Scrum, and want to learn more about how it works and what it looks like in action then this is the course for you. You will learn about why we use Scrum, how to navigate complexity using empiricism, the Scrum framework and all its moving parts, and what it means to work as a Scrum Team to frequently deliver value.

The course is framed around how to work as a Scrum Team, but the learning is just as valuable and relevant for any leader or professional that needs to navigate the world of product delivery or interface with a Scrum Team.

You will leave the course with an understanding of Professional Scrum, an appreciation for the ‘simple-but-not-easy’ nature of practising empiricism, and what it means to be accountable for creating a valuable, useful Increment every Sprint.

Who should attend?

Anyone looking to solve complex problems, regardless of industry, will benefit from attending. The Applying Professional Scrum course is designed with:

Learning Experience and Format

The course is delivered either in-person or virtually via Zoom, as specified in the Location field, over two days.

Both methods are delivered using an engaging mix of collaborative exercises, liberating structures, and group discussions – all facilitated by your trainer. During the course you will work with a team to actually build a product to apply the learning through practise.

Whilst we do follow a curriculum, how it is delivered from course to course is never quite the same as another. I do this to ensure the experience is adapted to meet your needs and set you up for success!

Assessments and Certifications

The Applying Professional Scrum (APS) course is associated with the globally recognized credential, the Professional Scrum Master (PSM) I and PSM II. Attending the course comes with a free attempt of the PSM I assessment, and a discount for the PSM II assessment.
